the competencies that the learner is expected to acquire are clearly spelt out in the individual modules covered in the 2 years. the modules are packaged in a manner that will allow the learner to attain particular skills required in performing tasks at any level of the respective academic year of study. Modules such as Computer applications, Basic Swahiri and Life skills are aimed at enhancing the learner's report writing, communication and presentation skills whereas workshop practice, material science, Woodwork Drawing, and real Life project are aimed at equipping the Learner with the core hands on skills and techniques in the field of Carpentry, furniture and interior works. Applied technician Mathematics is aimed at improving the Learner's ability to judge and make decisions, estimate and cost material and Labour, analyse data, and understand trends in the world of work. Entrepreneurship skills provides the learner with the skills of starting up, managing and sustaining and enterprise in an ethical manner whereas Industrial training is aimed at bridging the gap between institutional based training and the world of work
